The Legend of Stan Lee, the man who brought fictional characters to life. The man wasn’t just responsible for the resurrection and creation of Marvel comics and 1000s of the characters it hosts, he was The Marvel comics. His presence and influence can be felt in every corner of the Marvel Universe as he was responsible for the creation and birth of characters like Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Thor, Incredible Hulk, and Spider-Man.

Stan Lee was a comic book writer, editor and even producer. He became Marvel Comics’ primary creative leader for two decades and led it from a publishing house to a multimedia corporation that still dominates the comics and movie industries. He became an assistant in 1939 at the new Timely Comics division. In 1941, following a dispute, Lee, at the age of 19, was anointed the role of Interim-editor and By the 1960s, Timely, evolved into Marvel Comics. At first, he used to write only fillers in the comics and gradually started writing actual comics. It was the time of comics and the first superheroes Lee and his companion artist Jack Kirby created together were the Fantastic Four. Working with Kirby, Lee co-created the Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, and the X-Men;

With Bill Everett, Daredevil;

With Steve Ditko, Doctor Strange and Marvel’s most successful character, Spider-Man.

All of them lived in a thoroughly shared universe. And soon Lee and Kirby gathered several of their newly created characters together into the team and named them The Avengers.

These Comics from Marvel led them to gain huge popularity worldwide and were an immediate success. All the factors played in hands with Marvel and soon Disney owned Marvel decided to make the universe out of it.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe began with Iron Man (2008), it was the beginning of Phase One leading it to the crossover film The Avengers (2012). Phase Two began with the last part of Iron Man in 2013 and concluded with the first part of Ant-Man (2015). Phase Three began with the last part of Captain America: Civil War in 2016 and concluded with Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). All of these three phases are collectively known as “The Infinity Saga”. The films of Phase Four will begin with Black Widow.

Infinity Saga was a cumulative end of The First Avengers which ended with Endgame. Entire comic world was in despair with the end of this Saga and what makes it even more hurtful that Stan Lee wasn’t with us to witness this poetic end. The legacy of Stan Lee is seen in these millions of fans who today wait for even a snapshot of Marvel Movies. Stan Lee gave power to people, he was people’s writer and delivered content which was genuine and worth waiting for. Under his leadership Marvel infused with his colourful voice, flourished that era, exploded sales, constantly increasing complexity of characters and their stories. Lee’s goal was to humanize his characters, he made them with character flaws and insecurities, to make them real flesh-and-blood characters with personality.

An entire book could be written on the work done by Stan, however the entire Fandom, Comic book world salutes the legend. He fancied himself in 22 Marvel movies doing cameos, it made him popular even to the young ones. He may have passed on, but his legacy will live on.
